Hardware Requirements

What you need

Our training systems require a virtual reality system that tracks headset and hand motions in 3D space (6 degrees of freedom).

We highly recommend the Oculus Quest 2.  It is a standalone VR headset that does not require a computer.  The total hardware cost will be the cost of the headset.  $299 for the 64GB unit, or $399 for the 256GB unit.

We also support tethered headsets that require a VR ready computer.  The supported headsets are the original Oculus Rift and Oculus Rift S.

Oculus Quest 1 & 2 - Preferred Platform

Virtual Goalie leverages the power of Oculus Quest 2 to bring you a fully immersive simulated training environment.

Mount the left controller to a lacrosse stick to make the training as realistic as possible.

The Quest 2 is the cheapest hardware solution because it doesn’t need a computer.  It is also the first truly consumer ready VR headset.  It is easy to setup and use.

The Oculus Quest (64GB) retails for $299.  No other hardware is required – no computer.

Oculus Rift & Rift S

Oculus Rift S is the second generation Oculus tethered VR system that requires a VR Ready computer.

The Rift S is a major improvement over the original Rift.  It uses inside out tracking which means there are no sensors to setup.

Mount the left controller to a lacrosse stick to make the training as realistic as possible.

The Rift S retails for $399, but requires a VR Ready computer.
